Polpette al Sugo - Nonna's Italian Meatballs in Tomato Sauce
Polpette al Sugo
Nonna's Italian Meatballs in Tomato Sauce
Made completely from scratch at Casa Scollo, our Polpette al Sugo are a true taste of the traditional Italian Sunday table. Five generous meatballs, made from a carefully selected blend of beef and pork, are slowly braised in extra virgin olive oil and gently cooked in Nonna's signature tomato sauce, following a cherished family tradition. Rich, tender, and deeply flavorful, this is the kind of comforting dish that tastes like it came straight from Nonna's kitchen.
And we don't stop at the meatballs. Every portion comes with one homemade Sicilian semola filoncino, baked fresh every morning specifically so you can experience one of the greatest pleasures of the Italian table: fare la scarpetta.
What is fare la scarpetta? It is the beloved Italian tradition of using a piece of bread to scoop up the last of the delicious sauce left on your plate. It's simple, wonderfully satisfying, and for many Italians, the best part of the meal. With Nonna's sauce, leaving any behind would almost be a crime.
